Solar apex Legends has been disappointingly light on account this season. Merely that's all set to change later today with Old Ways, New Dawn, the first of a new character-driven series of story events Respawn is calling Apex Chronicles.

Described as a "bite-sized story event", Chronicles are a throwback to a Season 5 experimentation in in-game storytelling. But sort o than taking place in tailored solo instances, Chronicles bestow the chronicle to regular old battle royale, tasking certain characters with following a breadcrumb trail to uncover new beats.

Centring on tech-viking hunter Bloodhound, Old Ways, Revolutionary Dawn is triggered when any Bloodhound thespian stumbles upon a stark white raven on World's Edge. There are many of these across the map, with unique paths to ensure nine-fold Bloodhounds rear accept the challenge without overlapping (and presumably murdering each other). And if you act get battered mid-game, you can take up from the checkpoint you left off come the next match.

New chapters will open up every some days, with a hide and Sleuthhound-specific loot boxes rewarded upon culmination. I'm curious to learn how this experimentation will play out, mind. How testament people meet so many Bloodhounds running round the map doing story content alternatively of fighting? But I do hope this heralds the start of many more fiber chronicles. I'd get laid one that focusses on Horizon returning to Olympus, operating theatre Spectre reverting to the labs buried beneath King's Canon.

Information technology is, over again, likewise a refreshing event in a season that's been sorely lacking in new story. While community cargo screens have continued, Emergence is missing the rather devotee-created comics and short films that had me fall in love with the game's colourful murder-buds earlier this year.

Embedded in the European indie scene and having herself developed critically acclaimed moderate games like Can Androids Pray, Nat is always looking for a new curiosity to scream some—whether it's the next best independent darling, or merely person modding a Scotmid into Black Mesa. She's also played for a rivalrous Splatoon team up, and on the side appears in Solar apex Legends under the pseudonym View.
